Description

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Mass in C-minor - " the only work situated between Bach's B-minor Mass and Beethoven's Missa Solemnis" (Alfred Einstien) - Was written in or about 1783 at a time when Mozart was acquainting himself with Handel's oratorios and J.S Bach's fugues. In all likelihood, the mass was performed by the composer himself on 26 October 1783 in St. Peter's in Salzburg; an entry in the diary of Mozart's sister Maria Anna indicates that the solo part - probably the 1st soprano - was taken by her sister-in-law Konstanze.

This Peters Edition Urtext is a sleek and tidy rendition of the complete vocal score of this work. Notably, the double chorus sections are formatted with both choir parts in the same size print, so they are both equally easy to read.

Paperback format with Perfect binding for great flexibility and durability at a low cost.
