Fender - Palomino Vintage SSB Acoustic Guitar

In the early 1960s, a new creative culture flourished in Southern California, and Leo Fender was eager to design a new collection of acoustic instruments that captured the innovative spirit of the musicians around him. Working with renowned luthier Roger Rossmeisl, Fender released several acoustic models that embodied the distinctive musical character that would make Fender a symbol of the rock and roll revolution. These included signature headstock shapes, easy-to-play neck profiles, and a revolutionary design that would forever change the look of Fender acoustic guitars.

Today's Fender California models directly hark back to their mid-20th-century origins, offering a retro look that delivers a rich, modern sound—a true contemporary alternative with classic Fender heritage and unmistakable Fender style. The Palomino's auditorium body features innovative Performance X-bracing and is constructed from a solid Sitka spruce top and solid ovangkol body to effortlessly produce a layered, balanced tone with excellent clarity. The okoume neck has an ergonomic, modern "V" profile, which, combined with the solid body, ensures optimal sustain. A 6-in-line maple headstock provides a distinctive look, reminiscent of Fender's iconic electric guitars.
Other notable details include the bound ovangkol fingerboard with pearloid block inlays for a retro look, vintage-style tuning machines for precise tuning, and a bone nut and bridge for excellent intonation.
The integrated Fishman Sonitone Plus pickup system features controls conveniently located inside the soundhole. A piezo pickup on the underside of the guitar can be combined with an internal body transducer to reproduce the guitar's natural tone as faithfully as possible when plugged into an amplifier or recording device.

The instruments in the Fender California series are bold, eye-catching and unique, making no compromises when it comes to style, sound and ease of play - for those who want to play something special.
