All ShortBass One® models are using a new type of strings specifically designed by Aquila Corde Armoniche for this instrument: the red series. Red Series strings are basically a mixture of an elastic plastic combined with micronized copper metal powder, in order to obtain a rich and powerful sound with reduced gauges. They are designed and manufactured at our headquarters in Vicenza – Italy

in the past, many companies experimented with new materials trying to find new alternatives to the traditional wound strings, but all attempts achieved poor results due to the friction of the material on the fingers, such as for silicone, or to an annoying rotation of the string that makes it extremely difficult to play.
